Secretary of State for the Colonies

Your telegram No. 420 to the Foreign Office

repeated as No. 82 to me,

Aeroplanes. The Commander in Chief intends to

take up this question strongly with the Japanese Naval

authorities at Shanghai in the near future and will no

doubt mention the possibility of anti aircraft firearms.

There is no possible doubt that all the machineɛ

concerned were Japenese Naval planes.
